This is a GREAT tool chest for the price.I looked for weeks to find an all metal chest that has full-extension BALL BEARING SLIDES, with either 3 or 4 drawers, and was no wider than 20.5".The ONLY one I found that met this criteria is Tactix and I could only find it at Amazon. It looks as though Amazon has made exclusive marketing arrangements with the manufacturer. The hang-tag that came on the handle indicates that they are made by another company.I looked at a lot of tool chests (on line and in person) before getting this one. The quility and design is very comparable to Craftsman's 4 drawer chest - but the Craftsman doesn't have BALL BEARING SLIDES and the lid isn't angled and therefore won't hold as much large-sized gear in the top bin.What amazes me is that Amazon mentions the Ball Bearing Slides in their listing as if were just another specification. But's it's not. In my opinion, ball bearing slides are a big deal - a very big deal. There's a HUGE difference in smoothness, quietness, and ease of operation between drawers with bearings and those without - whether the drawer is almost empty or loaded heavy. An occasional application of petroleum jelly or lithium-based (low remperature) grease [used on garage door openers] should keep the bearings and slides like new.I'm guessing that the case will dent fairly easy if moved around alot as it's not commercial grade thickness. It's plenty thick for sitting on a bench and occasional moving and carrying around. The drawer locking mechanism/bar is very solid and reliable. That said, the first thing I did was remove the pin that attaches the drawer locking mechanism/bar to the lid so that I DON'T have to have the lid raised to open a drawer. This allowes me to open a drawer with one hand instead of two. I also carefully removed the Tactix label/badge and moved it to the inside of the lid directly below the handle. The outer case looks cleaner and it looks really nice when the lid is open. The full-length piano hinge is smooth and quiet.NOT mentioned in the description are: * Drawer Catches - a final "catch" holds the drawer closed when fully pushed in (IE TOP qual slides). * Foam Pads in every drawer - help protect the drawer bottoms and the tools. * Heavy/Solid Lid Handle - although I wouldn't rely on the rivets that hold it to the lid if I were carrying a fully loaded, heavy chest. If fully loaded, I would carry it with both arms from the bottom - not the handle. * Tall Angled Lid for added strength AND to accommodate large items in the top bin (Duct Tape, Volt Meter, Gloves, etc.)

Exceptional service. Ordered this Tool box one day and recieved it the next. Really fast service. The Tool box arrived in excellent condition. All the drawers worked as advertised, no problems sliding them in or out. The rubber lining in the drawers and top was a plus. The lid opened up and closed with no binding. All in all a really nice tool box.

This is a great toolbox, for the price you just can't beat it. So much room for all my tools and room to spare for the tools I will get in the future. The shelves slide out very smooth and the locking feature is very secure when you lock down the top. Just a great product, would love to buy from them again maybe even as a gift for my brother and friends. Very satisfied.

Okay-here's my story with this tool box.I didn't buy it here-I got it at a regional discount chain- on sale for 29.99 (normal price 34.99). I needed two-but opted to get one for now. When my local sears store put the 3-drawer Craftsman on sale for 39.99 (regular 59.99) I jumped on it. I brought it home and put it next to this box. This tactix box is a heavier guage steel, the drawers stayed aligned easier, and being ball bearing,operated more smoothly with weight in them.So despite being a Craftman lover, I had to take that one back and opt for the higher quality for less money. And even for the higher Amazon price this chest is better than anything in the price range-I have looked at every similar chest in the price range. As For the aforementioned problem with the drawers opening-this chest has a feature that they have a "catch" when you pushed them in-there is a slight resistance and then they catch and they hold fine. And it even comes with padding in the drawers.

When this box arrived I thought it was full of tools. This is one heavy and heavy duty box. Well built, smooth opening drawers and thay have inserts to keep the tools from moving around. Thsi box is a a bargain and well woth the small amout it costs. That's why I gave it 5 stars.

This tool box is a good looking, sturdy, well designed tool box for 45 bucks. But, the toolbox I received had been banged up pretty badly. It is scuffed on the right rear edge down to the metal, so I'll probably put some paint on that to prevent it from rusting. There were also multiple scuffs all over the box that aren't very concerning, but still detracted from my excitement about receiving the item. Also, the lid doesn't quite line up perfectly. It's not terrible, and I think I can probably bend it a little to where it will line up.Overall, this toolbox is what I wanted, just not quite in the condition i was expecting (new). The seller, VM Innovations, should be more careful about what they try to sell as new. If it had been purchased direct from Amazon I would return it, since they always pay return shipping in cases like this, but I'm not gonna pay out of pocket to ship a 20 pound toolbox that only cost me 45 dollars including shipping.So, I'm ok with my purchase, just wish the quality control of the seller was a little better.

I bought this because the similar Craftsman toolbox doesn't have ball-bearing slides. This one does, but they aren't that great. Also, the locking mechanism is a bit weak and the drawers can be pulled open with some force. That shouldn't be possible. However, it is still better than other toolboxes at this price.

Got it for my boyfriend for Christmas, and he was so excited he wanted to put all his tools in it immediately. Well made, solid steel construction, and we noticed the drawers won't open unless the top is open (drawers are locked when the top is locked). So cool! He loves it!.

This toolbox is a great deal for the price. It appears to be built solid and the 3 drawers slide real nice. I had read earlier reviews about these toolboxes damaging later. I don't see any major issues that would indicate this but like anything else if you are not careful you may have problems. This toolbox will be mostly stationary for me so it should last me for decades. Very pleased..

Better than other brands at a fraction of the price. Drawers slide open and closed very easily and smoothly. It's constructed from very nice, thick steel (this does make it weigh a lot, though).It's much nicer than the Homak and Craftsman tool chests that cost more money and have lower quality slides and thinner metal..
